How to make Joan Rivers' Stunning Private Collection Yours

Posted on 19 May 2016Joan Rivers Jewellery Collection Auction Collecting Jewellery Van Cleef and Arpels Tiffany & Co Bulgari Harry Winston Cartier Faberge

Yes, yes, yes! I have hoped for this for some time. From the moment I read the "Jewelry By Joan Rivers" book after her passing in 2014, I have hoped that there would one day be an exhibit or showcase of her opulent Personal Collection.

Her book opens "In memory of my husband, Edgar, who has the taste and knowledge to open up the world of fine jewelry to me".

From a very early age Joan Rivers had taken an interest in jewellery and design. Whilst many celebrities "love" jewellery and love the opportunity to be dripping with diamonds at big events, these celebrities do not necessarily own these pieces and majority of the time they are "on loan". Joan, however, was a collector, she owned her jewellery! She valued and cherished every piece, particularly those given as gifts from her late husband Edgar Rosenberg.

Designers on the top of Joan's list were Cartier, Tiffany & Co, Faberge, Van Cleef & Arpels and Harry Winston. The Joan Rivers Classic Collection that she created with QVC was heavily influenced by these designers and the pieces in her personal collection. This gave people the opportunity to own a piece of "Joan Rivers Jewellery".

Well what if I told you that you could own Joan's Jewellery; her ACTUAL jewellery?

Christies of New York is holding an Auction that will include more than 200 lots in a live Auction and approximately 80 lots in an Online Auction that will include many of her jewels; these will take place 16 - 22 June 2016. This will include many of Joan Rivers decorative arts and jewels. Estimates will range from $500 - $200,000.

A portion of the proceeds will benefit both Gods Love We Deliver and Guide Dogs for the Blind.

There will be more information released on the Auction by Christies in the coming weeks.
